Ginataang Hipon with Sitaw, Okra at Kalabasa


  • ½ kilo of hipon
  • 10 pesos of sitaw
  • 10 pesos of okra
  • 20 pesos of kalabasa slice cubes
  • 1 big coconut, pure milk and kakang-gata(second milk)
  • 2 medium onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tsp of Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp. of Fish sauce
  • 1 pc. knorr cubes
  • cooking oil for sauté


  1. Heat oil in a cooking pot and saute the garlic and onion until the onion becomes golden brown.
  2. Add the kalabasa. Stir and Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Cover
  3. Add the kakang-gata and seasoned with salt pepper.
  4. Add the knorr cubes and fish sauce.
  5. Then add the sitaw and okra. Stir and cover.
  6. When vegetable is slight soft then add the pure coconut milk and stir.
  7. And lastly add the shrimp. Stir until reduce the sauce and already cook.
  8. Serve hot with more rice.
