How to Make Onion Rings with Mayo Sauce
The secret for a good onion ring is in the batter. The batter must contain the right amount of flavor to compliment the onion. It should also be crisp enough to be enjoyed. While there are many onion ring batter recipes around, I am still sticking with simplest recipe that I know.
Onion rings are sliced onions that are dipped in a batter, and deep fried until crisp. These are considered as a fast food favorite; it can also be a good replacement for French fries.
Ingredients:
- White onions
- Breadcrumbs
- Flour
- Eggs
- Salt and pepper
- Oil for frying
For Sauce
- Mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper
- Garlic
- Lemon juice
- Parsley
Instructions:
- Slice the onion into rings.
- Beat the eggs with salt and pepper. Set aside
- Prepared the breadcrumbs and flour.
- Dip the onion ring into flour, beaten eggs and breadcrumbs.
- Repeat to din into beaten eggs and breadcrumbs until coated.
- Dip fries the onion ring until golden brown and crispy. Set aside
For the sauce:
- Mix the mayo with garlic, salt and pepper, lemon juice and parsley then mix well. Set aside
- Serve the onion rings with mayo sauce.
